What a privilege.
I was humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to kōrero with one of the most inspiring leaders of our time. A director, visionary, trailblazer, advocate, leader, and former soldier with the biggest resume and collection of prestigious awards and achievements I've ever seen (straight up go check out his LinkedIn

).Our people are stereotypically known around the globe for being the best athletes, musicians, singers, dancers and fighters. But behind the TV spotlight we also have lawyers, doctors, politicians, mayors, academics, directors, executives, CEOs and more.
As CEO of three organisations from 2002 to 2018 and business leadership experience spanning 25 years, Dr Jim Mather is a qualified accountant by profession who has led two of the most high-profile Māori organisations over a 14 year period – Māori Television and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. He also holds a PhD in Māori economic development, and in 2018 founded his own strategic Māori development consultancy, Mather Solutions.
There's a saying that "you can't be it, if you can't see it". We hope that sharing the diverse achievements of our people inspires you to see that we are ALL capable of greatness.
